This Vanilla Ice Cream Sauce recipe goes well with Christmas Pudding and I have the recipe for that too. It is a simple recipe and this sauce does not take that long to make for something different. Enjoy!
Serves 6-8
Ingredients
1 ½ cups vanilla ice-cream softened
3 teaspoons cornflour
1 tablespoon water
1 ¾ cups (430 ml) thickened cream
¼ cup brandy
Method
Melt ice-cream in a pan over a low heat.
Stir in cornflour blended with water; stir over heat until the sauce boils and thickens.
Pour into a large bowl; cool.
Whip cream with brandy until soft peaks form.
Whisk half the cream mixture into the ice-cream mixture, then fold in remaining cream mixture.
Serve at room temperature.
Hints
Great served with a Christmas Pudding.
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
Remove from the refrigerator prior to serving and either serve cold or at room temperature.
