An easy Sauerkraut Salad Recipe

If Sauerkraut is your thing then this Sauerkraut Salad recipe is for you. The recipe has few ingredients and is very easy to make. If you make your own sauerkraut then all the better, however, you can use a jar from the supermarket. Just remember that the store-bought sauerkraut does not have the same amount of bacteria as the home fermented variety because of the methods of preservation used.

Serves 6-8


1 x 425 can sauerkraut

1 large Granny Smith Apple

1 carrot

1 teaspoon caraway seeds


Drain the sauerkraut and rince in cold water then drain well.

Peel, core and chop the apple.

Peel and grate the carrot.

Mix sauerkraut with apple, carrot and carraway seeds.

Place in a serving bowl, cover and chill.

Serve with a Polish Roast Pork or any pork based meal.
